Welcome To My Treehouse

Hi, my name is Andi. I have a tradition that every time I start a new journal of any sort, I reintroduce myself. It's fun to look back at old journals and see how I saw myself.

I'm 17 years old and I just moved out of my parent's house. I live with my boyfriend Mikey and our roommate Joel. We also live my my collection of fishies and my mouse Reepicheep. I named him after the mouse in the chronicles of Narnia. I work at Vector Marketing, selling CUTCO. I really hate my job and I'm looking, although I'll admit not fervently, for a job that I enjoy more. It pays well though, so I can't really complain.

On August 1st we're all moving to a new apartment, and my best friend since 3rd grade, Sarah, is moving in too. Eventually Adam, our personal chef at the apartment, will be moving in as well. Five people in a two bedroom apartment; sounds like fun to me!

I've been spending my free time doing lots of swimming at Mikey's Grandmother's lake. Usually Adam and his sister Christina, who we call Jailbait, come with. Jailbait is my other best friend. She's at the apartment almost every day, and the two of us sit around and talk or watch music videos on my new Mac G5.

We have some quirky neighbors, including a crazy black guy named "E" who sits outside and talks to us and a little girl who likes to give me rocks and swim in the pool.

I love anime. I actually met Mikey at an anime convention. I love to sew costumes for cosplay, which is dressing up like a character. Right now I'm working on costumes for a character named Rei Ayanami from the anime Evangelion, and for a character named Chii from Chobits. I also have a flamingo who cosplays with me. Her name is Cosette and she loves cherry popsickles.

My other passion is writing. I'm working on a novel about unicorns right now. It's a futuristic fantasy. The best parallel to draw to it would be 1984 by George Orwell. I also write a lot of fiction and fan fiction. I write mostly Harry Potter fan fics, but sometimes I write anime fan fiction as well.

Overall, I'm very content with my life right now. I like having some independence and being able to be self reliant. It gives me a real reason to wake up in the morning.
